The Affordable Care Act has made it possible for millions of previously uninsured individuals to access quality and affordable coverage. As the years have passed, it is safe to say that the Affordable Care Act is here to stay. (The regulatory agencies continue to actively review and provide additional rules and guidance to enhance its outcomes.) The 2023 open enrollment saw robust enrollment and the trend is expected to continue with 4 in 5 individuals receiving federal subsidies to assist with premiums.

The number of people enrolled in non-ACA compliant plans continues to trend downward and is now at a record low. As 2024 open enrollment approaches, many more Americans will likely enroll in Marketplace plans due to enhanced subsidies, Medicaid disenrollment, and other factors such as possible reversal of policies on short-term health plans.

The Marketplace health plans continue to evolve and have contributed to the stability within the Market. The issuers must continue to innovate and respond to the growing demand for ACA compliant plans. Now is also the perfect time for non-profit, community-based organizations to enter this space. We at Wild Blue have the expertise to guide your organization with market entry into the Marketplace and help you achieve new goals/milestones!
