Daniel Crowe, MD, FACP, and Physician Executive and Diabetologist, is a Senior Consultant with Wild Blue Health Solutions working to transform healthcare in the safety net and beyond in Texas.

Dan is a leader in changing the paradigm for managing chronic pain and addiction. He was the Managing Principal for Health Management Associates’ Austin office. Prior to that, he was Senior Medical Director with Superior Health Plan, the Texas subsidiary of Centene, where he led efforts to integrate physical and mental health, to transform payment models to value-based care, and to address the complex needs of those with multiple chronic diseases and substance use disorders. Prior to that he was Chief Medical Officer of CommUnityCare in Austin, a Federally Qualified Health Center providing care for the underserved in Central Texas.

Before moving to Austin, Dan was head of the Diabetes Program at Southboro Medical Group in the Boston area where he also was Assistant Medical Director. He was a member of the Clinical Advisory Board for the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology and has been a long-time member of the Diabetes Technology Society. Dan is a graduate of the IHI’s Innovation College and has worked on health care reform in New England and in Texas. He is a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt and is experienced in using the IHI’s Model for Improvement.

Currently, Chairman of the Board for the Texas Health Institute, and continues a longstanding role as a member of the Steering Committee for the Texas Primary Care Consortium.
